What sits outside the headline price
No prices published — "Tell us about yours and we'll put together a quote that fits, no obligation," a fully custom-quote model. The vendor does claim favorable commercial terms: "no contract, free onboarding and speedy setup," which is worth holding them to in writing since it contradicts the industry norm of annual contracts plus implementation fees. e-Prescribing (eRx) is explicitly an OPTIONAL ADD-ON, not included — a material hidden cost for an injectables practice, with no price disclosed. The Essentials/Pro split means labs and insurance billing are gated to the higher tier. Payment processing rates, SMS rates, add-on pricing, and setup fees are all undisclosed.
Clinical capability
Yes — genuine clinical/EMR, one of the more clinically complete options. Electronic Medical Records with "Compliant, fast charting," "AI-generated SOAP notes built into PatientNow," e-Prescribing (paid add-on), clinical before & after gallery via the RxPhoto platform, and labs plus insurance billing on the Pro tier.
Has genuine medical charting — SOAP/procedure notes, consent forms, before-and-after photo management, and in most cases e-prescribing.
HIPAA
Not stated on the pricing page. No HIPAA compliance claim, BAA offer, or consent-form language appears at https://www.patientnow.com/pricing/ — surprising for a product marketed as a medical EMR, and worth verifying directly with the vendor before publishing.
We record what the vendor states publicly. A published compliance claim is not the same as a signed business associate agreement — ask for the BAA in writing before you migrate patient data.
Correction policy. PatientNow can change its pricing at any time without telling us. If what you were quoted differs from what is above, that is a defect on our side and we want the detail — send it over and we will recheck and republish with a new date. We do not remove unflattering facts at a vendor's request; we do correct wrong ones immediately.
