How we collect this

Most software comparison content in this category is written by vendors about themselves, or assembled from directory listings that nobody dates. We do something narrower and, we think, more useful: read the vendors' own pages, record what they say, stamp the date, and re-check on a schedule.

Where numbers come from

  1. The vendor's own published page, or nothing. Every price on this site was read off the vendor's public pricing page. We do not copy figures from Capterra, G2, Software Advice or other comparison sites — those are frequently stale and almost never carry a date.
  2. Every figure is dated. Pricing in this category changes without announcement. An undated price is a guess. Ours currently read July 30, 2026.
  3. Re-checked weekly. An automated pass re-reads each pricing page and flags changes for review before anything is republished.
  4. "Quote only" is recorded as a finding, not a gap. 12 of 24 platforms decline to publish rates. That is a real fact about how they sell, and it belongs in your shortlist decision.

What we refuse to do

How we classify clinical capability

We sort platforms into clinical EMR, hybrid, booking/POS, and add-on tools, based on whether the vendor documents structured or SOAP-style treatment charting, treatment-linked consent capture, before-and-after photo management tied to the patient record, and e-prescribing.

Intake forms and file attachments are common on booking platforms and are not charting. That distinction is the single most consequential one in the category, so we apply it strictly and say what evidence we used on every vendor page.

Corrections

A wrong price is a defect. If you were quoted something that differs from what we publish, send us the detail and we will re-read the source and republish with a new verification date, whether the correction flatters the vendor or not.

We correct errors of fact immediately. We do not remove accurate findings because a vendor dislikes them. Where a vendor disputes an editorial classification rather than a fact, we will publish their position alongside ours.

Money

We earn affiliate commission from some of the platforms listed here. That relationship is disclosed on every page that carries a paid link, and the disclosure page names exactly which vendors pay us and which do not.

The structural safeguard is that our core asset — the pricing database — is generated from vendor documentation, not from an editor's preference. Ordering in tables is by price or alphabetical, never by commission. Platforms that pay us nothing, including several quote-only enterprise systems, are covered on the same terms as those that do.

If you ever find a page where the commercial relationship appears to have shaped the conclusion, that is a serious failure and we want to hear about it.

Independence, plainly stated

MedSpaStack is not owned by, funded by, or employed by any software vendor in this category, and no vendor has editorial input. We mention this explicitly because it is not the norm here — the most visible "independent" comparison resources in med spa software have direct commercial ties to platforms they review, sometimes disclosed only in a founder's job title. Readers deserve to know which kind of site they are reading.
